What are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers (also known as dental veneers or dental porcelain laminates) are strong but thin shells of porcelain that are permanently bonded to your teeth. They are used to improve the shape and alignment of your teeth and cover up blemishes, chips, cracks and gaps in the teeth. Veneers are also used to change the length or width of a tooth by changing its relationship with adjacent teeth. Making and Fitting Porcelain Veneers

Generally, three appointments will be required. Firstly, we will examine your teeth to establish suitability and the extent of the work and discuss your options. Secondly, some preparation will be necessary, including taking a digital scan of your teeth and sending it to a laboratory. Here they will use their expertise to create your new veneers.  The porcelain will be colour-matched to blend with your existing tooth enamel (often after whitening those teeth that are not having veneers). Lastly, the good news is our dentist can usually fit your veneers at the next appointment.
